Brandon anchored his final newscast on January 28, 2011 at WMGT. That's when he announced to viewers in the Macon, Georgia viewing area that he was being promoted to news director. In addition to anchoring since September 2004, Brandon had previously served as a one-man-band reporter and managing editor at the station.
